Inner Harbor Mixed Use Development

Syracuse, New York

The shoreline of Onondaga Lake and the surrounding area was once a major tourist attraction with amusement parks, restaurants, and hotels. Many years of abuse by manufacturing and oil companies left this area a polluted eyesore. The Inner Harbor and Onondaga Lake region is now experiencing a rebirth. When completed the SIH community will have hotels, restaurants, apartments, and offices. This neighborhood will not only change the skyline of our city, but more importantly, will restore this area to the vibrant attraction that it once was. Project objectives were to maximize the use of the available land and preserve the existing waterfront promenade, organize vehicular circulation to reinforce pedestrian, and waterfront connectivity throughout the development, incorporate the zoning mandated building materials of brick, stone, and metal panels to develop a unique design vernacular for the new Syracuse Inner Harbor.

"The renovation phases were particularly difficult with hazmat abatement considerations and working around patients. Dalpos remained committed throughout the project and provided outstanding integration, communication, and results."
