AIA CNY Award of Merit for Adaptive Re-use/ Historic Preservation, 2015
The former E.M. O’Donnell Building had been converted to office space in the 1980’s and was used as offices for Niagara Mohawk (National Grid) until five years ago.
We were able to take the existing, vacant building and provide 75 spacious residential units with high ceilings and larger windows. All new energy efficient HVAC and electrical systems were provided throughout the project. Amenities such as a fitness center, study rooms, meeting room, media rooms, a workshop and bicycle storage have been provided for the residents of the facility. Also, a number of parking spaces are available in the lower level of the building.
